Welcome to Chorilo! In this video, we’ll show you step by step how to use the app for your choir.

It all starts with an email: your choir director invites you. It contains your login details: your email address and a temporary password. At the very bottom of the email, you’ll find the links to the app. No email? Then check your spam folder.

Download the Chorilo app from the App Store or from Google Play. Install it, open it, done. The app is free.

When you first open the app, your phone asks whether Chorilo may send you notifications. Tap Allow, so you never miss an event. After a quick overview, you’re ready to go. Declined by mistake? You can change that later in your phone’s settings.

Now you log in. Enter the email address from the invitation, then the password from the email. Watch out for upper and lower case. And now: Login.

Your phone may ask whether to save the password or use Face ID. That’s up to you. Then a quick tour shows you where to find things: the bar at the bottom, live rehearsal, your playlist, the bell for news, and your profile. Just tap Next.

First, set your own password: tap your profile picture at the top right and then Change password. Enter the old password from the email, then your new one twice. Save, and you’re done.

The home screen shows your next events at a glance. The bar at the bottom takes you to events, sheet music and messages. Further down, you’ll see the latest notification from your choir.

Under Events, you’ll find all rehearsals and performances. You can respond right on the card. Just confirm, and your choir director knows. Tip: Only without response shows you where your answer is still missing.

Tap an event to see all the details: date, time, place and description. Can’t make it? Then simply decline. Under Attendees, you can see who’s coming, sorted by voice part.

Under Sheet Music, you’ll find all your choir’s pieces. Tap a piece, and the music opens. To turn pages, swipe sideways or tap the edge. A tap in the middle shows the bars.

With the pencil, you add your own annotations, for example breath marks or highlights. There’s a highlighter, a pen, an eraser and text. Once saved, your annotations are there again the next time you open the piece.

Behind the three dots, you’ll find a piano and a metronome. Use the piano to quickly find your starting note.

For pieces with the Voice Trainer, you can practise your own part. Tap Trainer at the bottom. Choose your voice part and tap play; the music scrolls along. You can also set the tempo, the volume of each part, and loops for tricky passages.

Under Messages, you’ll find your choir’s notifications. If there’s a poll, choose your answer and tap Vote. You’ll see the results right away. And you can still change your vote later.

Below it, you can write a comment. Send it, and everyone in the choir sees your reply.

In Chat, you can write to the whole choir or to individual people. Open a chat, type your message, and send.

Under More, you’ll find other areas and your profile. With Customize bar, you decide which areas appear in the bar at the bottom. Then tap Done.

In your profile, you choose which notifications you get by push or email. Under Sheet music view, you decide how to turn pages and which bars you see. In your profile, you can also change your name and photo, and that’s where you log out.

You’re all set! On a computer, log in at chorilo.com with the same login details. Forgot your password? Then tap Forgot password on the login page. You’ll find more guides in the help section at chorilo.com. And for questions about events or music, your choir director is there to help.

Web
App Store / Google Play

This feature is only available on the web.

What is this?

The Chorilo app for iOS and Android brings your choir to your smartphone. You get push notifications for new events and notifications, can read sheet music offline and scan tickets by QR code at concerts.

The app complements the web — it uses the same account and shows the same data.

How to install the app

iPhone & iPad

  1. Open the App Store on your device or this direct link: apps.apple.com/us/app/chorilo/id6745090533
  2. Alternatively, search the App Store for "Chorilo".
  3. Tap "Get", then "Open".
  4. Sign in with your usual email address and password. You do not create a new account in the app — you do that on the web or via an invitation.

Android

  1. Open Google Play on your device or this direct link: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chorilo.app
  2. Alternatively, search the Play Store for "Chorilo".
  3. Tap "Install", then "Open".
  4. Sign in with your login details.

What to set up after installation

  • Allow push notifications so you do not miss important notifications
  • Turn on sign-in with Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint — the app asks after your first login, later under Avatar › Security
  • Open sheet music once, while online — you can then read opened sheet music without internet too

Permission

No special permission required — the app is accessible to every registered Chorilo user. Features within the app depend, as on the web, on your role in the respective choirs.

Tips

  • Tell your choir members — event communication works best when everyone uses the app.
  • Allow access to the camera if you want to scan tickets or take a profile picture.
  • Use the live rehearsal, which lets you turn pages in sync during rehearsal: the choir leadership starts it under More, members join on Home.
  • Customize the bar at the bottom: besides Home and More you have three spots (four if you like) for your most important areas — by default Events, Sheet Music and Messages. Via More › "Customize bar" you can bring down Files, Media, Community or Board, for example. To change the order, hold ≡ and drag.
