Welcome to Chorilo! In this video, we’ll show you step by step how to use the app for your choir.

It all starts with an email: your choir director invites you. It contains your login details: your email address and a temporary password. At the very bottom of the email, you’ll find the links to the app. No email? Then check your spam folder.

Download the Chorilo app from the App Store or from Google Play. Install it, open it, done. The app is free.

When you first open the app, your phone asks whether Chorilo may send you notifications. Tap Allow, so you never miss an event. After a quick overview, you’re ready to go. Declined by mistake? You can change that later in your phone’s settings.

Now you log in. Enter the email address from the invitation, then the password from the email. Watch out for upper and lower case. And now: Login.

Your phone may ask whether to save the password or use Face ID. That’s up to you. Then a quick tour shows you where to find things: the bar at the bottom, live rehearsal, your playlist, the bell for news, and your profile. Just tap Next.

First, set your own password: tap your profile picture at the top right and then Change password. Enter the old password from the email, then your new one twice. Save, and you’re done.

The home screen shows your next events at a glance. The bar at the bottom takes you to events, sheet music and messages. Further down, you’ll see the latest notification from your choir.

Under Events, you’ll find all rehearsals and performances. You can respond right on the card. Just confirm, and your choir director knows. Tip: Only without response shows you where your answer is still missing.

Tap an event to see all the details: date, time, place and description. Can’t make it? Then simply decline. Under Attendees, you can see who’s coming, sorted by voice part.

Under Sheet Music, you’ll find all your choir’s pieces. Tap a piece, and the music opens. To turn pages, swipe sideways or tap the edge. A tap in the middle shows the bars.

With the pencil, you add your own annotations, for example breath marks or highlights. There’s a highlighter, a pen, an eraser and text. Once saved, your annotations are there again the next time you open the piece.

Behind the three dots, you’ll find a piano and a metronome. Use the piano to quickly find your starting note.

For pieces with the Voice Trainer, you can practise your own part. Tap Trainer at the bottom. Choose your voice part and tap play; the music scrolls along. You can also set the tempo, the volume of each part, and loops for tricky passages.

Under Messages, you’ll find your choir’s notifications. If there’s a poll, choose your answer and tap Vote. You’ll see the results right away. And you can still change your vote later.

Below it, you can write a comment. Send it, and everyone in the choir sees your reply.

In Chat, you can write to the whole choir or to individual people. Open a chat, type your message, and send.

Under More, you’ll find other areas and your profile. With Customize bar, you decide which areas appear in the bar at the bottom. Then tap Done.

In your profile, you choose which notifications you get by push or email. Under Sheet music view, you decide how to turn pages and which bars you see. In your profile, you can also change your name and photo, and that’s where you log out.

You’re all set! On a computer, log in at chorilo.com with the same login details. Forgot your password? Then tap Forgot password on the login page. You’ll find more guides in the help section at chorilo.com. And for questions about events or music, your choir director is there to help.

You can sign in on several devices at once: in the browser, in the app on your smartphone and in Chorilo Files on Mac or Windows PC.

How to sign in

On the web

  1. Open chorilo.com and click "Sign in".
  2. Enter your email and your password.
  3. Check "Remember me" if you want to stay signed in on this device for longer.

After signing in you see events, sheet music and messages from all your choirs. Use the choir switcher at the top of the header (in the app at the top of the screen) to filter to one choir.

Permission

No special permission required — anyone with valid login details can sign in. Which areas you see afterwards depends on your rights in the respective choirs.

Tips

  • Use a password manager for secure and convenient sign-in.
  • Sign out again on other people's devices to protect your data.

Frequently asked questions

Do I stay signed in if I close the browser?▾
Yes. On the web you stay signed in for a week, with "Remember me" for 90 days — unless you sign out earlier or change your password. In the app you stay signed in for 90 days.
On how many devices can I be signed in at the same time?▾
On any number. You can use the web, the app and Chorilo Files in parallel on different devices.
My login is not working, what now?▾
Check your email address for typos and use "Forgot your password?" if needed. After ten failed attempts in a short time, sign-in is blocked for a while — wait a few minutes then. If that does not help, write to support@chorilo.com.
The sign-in page shows "Your browser is blocking cookies" — what now?▾
Your browser is preventing Chorilo from saving your sign-in. On iPhone/iPad: Settings → Safari → turn off "Block All Cookies". On Mac: Safari → Settings → Privacy. Private browsing can also block this — use a normal window. Then reload the page.
