Edit a venue (seats, areas, objects)
Open a venue on its own page: upcoming events, address, capacity and seating plan with rows, areas and blocked seats. Rows with sold seats stay protected.
This feature is only available on the web.
What is this?
With Open you see a venue on its own page. At the top are the Upcoming events at this venue; below that you change the name, description, address, capacity and, if there is one, the price categories and seating plan, for example after the hall has been remodeled. The seating plan uses the full page so you can drag rows comfortably.
How to edit a venue
- Open Ensembles > Choir > Choir settings > Venues.
- Click “Open” on the venue or choose Edit in the ··· menu.
- Change the name, description, address or capacity.
- Tick “Seating plan for ticket sales” if needed and adjust the price categories and seating plan.
- Click “Save”.
You edit venues of another choir in the same family (main choir, sub-choirs, projects) in the choir they belong to. When creating a ticket sale, you can also edit the selected venue right there via the pencil.
Upcoming events at this venue
At the top of the page you see up to 20 upcoming events at the venue, from all choirs in the family. The first five are shown right away, Show all shows the rest. A click opens the event. Events you are not allowed to see only appear as Booked with choir and time.
Editing the seating plan in detail
- Seat rows: create, move and edit by double-clicking: row label, position, rotation, number of seats, spacing and price category
- Add areas, stage, tables and obstacles and change the label, position, size, rotation and color in the edit dialog
- Block seats: individually with the Block tool, or a whole row via Block entire row from sale
- Delete selected elements
Protected rows
Rows with sold seats are protected. They can no longer be moved, changed or deleted. That way sold tickets stay valid.
Blocked seats
Blocked seats:
- appear gray in the ticket shop and cannot be selected
- can still be assigned for free tickets, for example for guests of honor or technical staff
- can be released again at any time
Permission
To edit, you need Create & edit venues. By default administrators and moderators have it. With View venues you can open a venue read-only.
Tips
- Block seats with a poor view, for example behind pillars, to avoid complaints.
- Update the plan before the sale starts, then you won't have to work around protected rows later.
