Create a new venue (with seating plan)
Create a room or hall with address and capacity. For seating tickets, the venue also gets price categories and a seating plan with seat rows, stage, areas and tables.
This feature is only available on the web.
What is this?
With Add venue you create a room or hall your choir uses. For events you then choose it from the list and see whether it is already booked. With a seating plan, it is also the basis for seating tickets: buyers see the plan in the ticket shop and choose their seat.
How to create a venue
- Open Ensembles > Choir > Choir settings > Venues.
- Click “Add venue”. The venue opens on its own page.
- Enter the name, for example “Parish Hall” or “City Hall, Main Hall”, and optionally a description.
- Enter the address: Street, Postal Code, City and Country.
- Optionally enter the capacity: how many people fit in.
- For seating tickets: Tick Seating plan for ticket sales, create the price categories and build the seating plan (see below).
- Click “Save”.
Building the seating plan
Price categories and seating plan only appear once Seating plan for ticket sales is ticked.
- Create the price categories: Click Add Category, enter a name and choose a color.
- Build the seating plan in the editor below. It uses the full page width so you can drag rows comfortably.
The editor's toolbar offers:
- Select: click and move elements
- Seat Rows: create a row with Row Label, Number of Seats, spacing and price category
- Areas: mark sections of the hall
- Stage, Table and Obstacle, for example a pillar
- Block: block individual seats from sale or release them again
- Zoom to zoom in and out
The color of the price category shows in the plan which seat belongs to which category.
Permission
You need Create & edit venues. By default administrators and moderators have it.
Tips
- Use descriptive names, for example “City Hall, Main Hall”, if you use several rooms in the same building.
- Create the rehearsal room too. Then you see right away while planning whether another choir in your family (main choir, sub-choirs, projects) has already booked it.
- Start the seating plan rough and refine it later. You can edit it at any time.
