Change payment method
Add or change the payment method for your choir's Chorilo subscription in the Stripe billing portal, for example SEPA direct debit or a card.
This feature is only available on the web.
What is this?
You manage the payment method for the Chorilo subscription in the Stripe billing portal. You open it from the subscription page as soon as a subscription is active.
The subscription belongs to the person who took it out. Only they can change the payment method in the billing portal. The name and address on the invoices always come from Choir settings > General; change them there. You find the invoices on the subscription page under Invoices from Chorilo and under Profile > My invoices.
How to change the payment method
- Click Ensembles in the sidebar, pick your choir and then Choir settings.
- Select Subscription and click Open Billing Portal.
- In the Stripe portal you add a new payment method or change the existing one.
- Follow Stripe's steps, such as confirming with your bank.
What happens when a payment fails
- Stripe tries the payment again.
- The subscription stays active for up to 14 days after the payment was due.
- If it is still unpaid after 21 days, Chorilo ends the subscription and sends the paying person an email.
The reason for the long period: SEPA direct debits often take several bank working days.
Security
You enter card and account details directly with Stripe. Chorilo does not store them.
Permission
Only administrators of the choir can use the subscription page and the billing portal.
Tips
- SEPA direct debit from the club account is the easiest for many clubs: no card that expires.
- Agree on the board who takes out the subscription. That person then manages the payment method.
