Edit choir details
Adjust your choir's name, address, time zone, description, colour, logo, bank details and basic settings. Once saved, they apply for everyone.
This feature is only available on the web.
What is this?
Under General you maintain your choir's details and basic settings. The page is divided into sections:
- Basic details: name, street, postal code, city, country, time zone, description, colour and logo
- Bank Details: IBAN, BIC, creditor ID and the setting for the certificate for tax-exempt cultural events. The bank details are needed for SEPA direct debits.
- Events and members: reason required when declining events, allow “Maybe” as an answer, reason required for “Maybe”, parent linking, automatic event reminders, show birthdays of active members only, enable projects, and how long after the start responses are still possible
- Notifications: read status for notifications
- Board (only with the Board package): AI assistance for the board on or off
- Sheet Music Settings: watermark text
- Choir Association: assignment to a choir association
How to edit the details
- Click Ensembles in the sidebar, pick your choir and then Choir settings.
- Select General.
- Change the fields you want. Required fields are marked.
- Click Save changes. As long as something is unsaved, “Unsaved changes” shows at the bottom.
AI assistance for the board
If your choir has the Board package, you decide here whether an AI helps with the meeting minutes. When it is on, it suggests agenda items, decisions and tasks during recording and answers questions about your minutes in search. For this, text (transcript, names of the speakers, minutes) is sent to Anthropic, a company from the USA. The audio recording never leaves Chorilo.
When it is off, the board keeps working and you write the minutes yourselves. Until someone decides, the AI is off. The first time the board is opened, Chorilo asks everyone who can edit the choir settings. When you turn it on, the explanation appears again. The switch takes effect immediately, without saving.
Read status for notifications
When it is on, authorized people can see who has already opened a notification and who hasn't, without the time. This only applies to notifications created after switching it on. If you switch the read status off and on again later, notifications from before stay without a list. By default only administrators have the permission See who opened notifications; you choose other groups under Permission groups. The switch takes effect when you click Save changes.
When the switch is on, a suggested paragraph for your bylaws or data protection policy appears below it, which you can take over with Copy text. It is not a requirement. Inform your members before you use the feature, and if you are unsure, ask your board or a data protection expert. More under See who opened a notification.
Where the details are used
- Name, colour and logo identify the choir on the web and in the app.
- The time zone applies to all of the choir's events.
- Name and address appear on all invoices from Chorilo to your choir: subscription, sheet music, partner titles and performance fees. Sub-ensembles have their own details for this.
- The bank details are needed by the cash book for SEPA direct debits.
Permission
You need the permission Edit settings.
Tips
- Keep the address up to date. Without a complete address you can't take out a subscription or start a payment above €250 for sheet music, partner titles or performance fees.
- Pick one colour per choir if you're in several choirs. That way you tell them apart at once in the choir selector.
