Create custom member fields
Create your own fields for the member profile, such as clothing size, keys or membership number. They appear in the profile, the import and as filters.
This feature is only available on the web.
What is this?
With Custom fields you add details to the member profile that your choir needs on top, such as clothing size, keys or a membership number. The fields apply to all members of this choir.
Custom fields appear:
- in every member's profile under Custom fields
- in Import Members as target fields
- in the member list under More filters
How to create a custom field
- Click Ensembles in the sidebar, pick your choir and then Members.
- Open the ··· menu at the top right and choose Custom fields. Alternatively, click Manage fields in a member's profile.
- Click Add field.
- Enter the Field name and choose the Field type: Text, Number, Date, Yes/No or Select.
- For Select, enter the Choices.
- Tick Required field if needed. The member then can't be saved without a value.
- Click Add field.
Use the menu on a field to edit or delete it. When you delete it, all members' values in that field are lost.
For several choirs at once
If your choir has sub-choirs or projects, you can maintain a field in all of them at once. This works the same way for member, contact, sheet music and event fields.
- Create: Under Also create in, pick the choirs or click Select all. A choir that already has a field with this name is skipped.
- Change: If other choirs have a field with the same name, they appear under Also change in and are already selected. The field is changed there in the same way.
- Delete: If other choirs have a field with the same name, Chorilo asks. Delete everywhere removes it there too, including its values; Delete only here removes it in this choir only.
You can only pick choirs in which you may edit fields. The values entered stay separate in each choir.
Permission
Creating, changing and deleting fields: Create & edit members. Values can be entered by anyone who may edit the member, and by every member with Edit own data for themselves.
Tips
- Create fields before the import, then you can match the columns directly.
- Use Select instead of Text where there are fixed values. Then the filter works reliably.
- Use required fields sparingly. Every required field must be filled in when a member is saved.
